☄ Standard RP etiquette rules apply. This blog is 18+; nothing against younger roleplayers, but I'm over 30 and out of my own comfort, I won't be following anyone under 18 or with no age listed. No godmoding, no force-shipping, be patient. I can be very slow, and I appreciate understanding. My speed of replying has nothing to do with my desire to write with you. ☄ I’m OC and duplicate friendly, including threads with duplicates. ☄ I do have mains and don’t often do mains calls since I tend to like threading with people for a little while and letting mains develop naturally. Due to bad experiences in the past, I do not practice exclusivity, though I may on rare occasion have a ship exclusive. However, if you would like to be mains, let me know!
☄ I use small text, no icons, light aesthetic formatting and sometimes some colors; please let me know if this doesn't work for you. I don't care what formatting you use ( or if you opt out of it altogether ) or if you use icons. All I ask for is cut posts. ☄ I typically write anywhere from paragraph to novella, depending on muse and inspiration and situation. ☄ Memes are often the best way to get something started with me, but I am slow with them. I often reply to them over the course of a week or two as inspiration strikes. Feel free to send one or several. I'll often toss a couple options at you when sending memes. Never feel shy about sending memes. Also: yes, you can continue it! I usually put asks in new posts so feel free to treat them as starters.
SHIPPING,
I am multi-ship and ship chemistry. I adore ships and fluff and am generally pretty amenable to shipping, but due to my own comfort I prefer to have some sort of OOC communication with my shipping partner. I’m open to most pairings as long as there is chemistry.
I have a couple ships I am partial to, but I'll never assume unless we chat.
NSFW and smut will likely happen on this blog, though it certainly won't be all I write. I tag it, but I don't use readmores because I've had one too many losing arguments with tumblr with getting readmores to cooperate with me.
Shippy memes (especially lighter ones) are generally open to all mutuals as I've found they can be a good way to test the waters.

MAGIC : gale's connection to the Weave started when he was a child. he's more of a born sorcerer ( not that he'll admit it ).
THE ORB : the markings on his chest are deep scars left behind by the orb burying into him. they are magical in origin but are permanent.
SCHOLAR : gale is a fairly well-known scholar and wizard. rumors of his fall from grace are pretty widespread, though the details are scarce.

magic is ... my life.
as a young mage, he was skilled enough to earn the attention of the goddess mystra. he fell in love with her — totally, utterly. she showed him the mysteries beneath the veil that few mortals were ever allowed to see. they were lovers for a time, he her chosen one, until her attention waned and she pushed him aside.he was young and heartbroken, and did what many young and heartbroken fools try to do: earn her back. he found a tome of gateways that contained an old bit of primal magic leftover from ancient times, and it was locked away from mystra herself. he decided to try to return this bit of primal magic to the goddess to win her favor back.when he opened this book, it was waiting for him. an orb of the wildest, blackest, purest Weave, and it dug through him, into him, latching on and refusing to let go. and it's hungry and demands to be fed pure magic to keep it sated. if he doesn't keep it satisfied, it will eventually erupt in an explosion of pure Weave that could take out entire continents. mystra has abandoned him utterly for this.
PORTRAYAL NOTES,
plot points: he does not sacrifice himself, and he surrenders the crown to mystra. post-game, he is cured and returns to waterdeep unless otherwise plotted.
chaotic neutral. he's good at heart, but ultimately fairly selfish and remarkably pragmatic. he's easily enticed with power and knowledge and sometimes fails to see all sides. ultimately, though, he has a good soul.
tara: he's got a companion tressym ( owlcat ) named Tara. she periodically shows up in camp and provides him items to deal with his condition, and random items she's found. she's friendly to most but not a pet, and will be offended if treated like one.
isolation: he's lived in alone largely in isolation for about two years ( it took about a year to figure out how to keep the orb stable, and the past year or so has been spent trying to figure out how to resolve it ) prior to the events of the game. this was partly out of shame, and also to sequester himself away from others to avoid putting others at risk.
